About the WSR

The Company	The Computing Centre for Economics and Social Sciences (WSR) was founded in 1971 as a non-profit association and acts as Computing Centre of the Austrian Institute for Economic Research (WIFO). In this function the WSR offers - mainly for Austria but also worldwide - national and international economic data. The software provided by the WSR enables the user not only to query the database, but also to combine and transform data series for use in economic analysis. The databases hosted on the WSR-computers can be accessed by dial up- or leased lines, ISDN and the Internet.
Software	WWW-Interface: This access tool is ready-to-use for every internet-user, no special installation is required. All you need is a Java- and a Javascript enabled WWW-browser. This interface also allows users without a valid access permission to register immediately and use the database. VisualData is the second possibility to access the database. Visual Data is a client running on PCs with MS Windows operating systems (3.1, 95, NT). To use this software package you have to acquire a license from the WSR and to install the package on your PC.
